Today is my lasy day of work before maternity leave.

Although I was so ready for today, now I feel anxious.

I guess this baby is really coming now isn't it ?

Well it's that time......

I survived Folk Fest.
I survived 46 C (with the humidity) and even walked around in Handmade Village on the Saturday. I purchased some hippy baby wear. I laid in Shady Grove and enjoyed an entire Workshop until dinner time. I spent the entire Saturday night on a tarp and only left to pee. It was fantastic. I owe it all to my assistants though. Without them I would probably still be under a picnic table in Birds Hill Park, crying. I was a calm cucumber and it was awesome. The weekend, of course, flew by and only felt like 1 long day but that's usual.

Now that it's over (The day after Folk Fest is much like my New Year's Day) I am now preparing and celebrating my impending maternity leave ! I don't think you all are ready for all this belly ! It's getting heavier by the day and I am certain I made the right choice by leaving a month early. It'll be nice to have a month to myself and calmly prepare for this baby's arrival. Prepare for this baby and prepare to go see Justin Timberlake on August 25th....oh boy....should be interesting :)

1 step forward, 10 steps back

Baby Furniture including mattress and bedding has been picked out and paid for.
However, upon starting demolition work on the baby's room, we discovered mold behind the drywall and I have been informed that half my house needs to be ripped apart.
AWESOME ! Excuse me people, I have many trees in my backyard but none of them are money trees. So now the decision is to either rip apart the old part of the house and have me and all things baby, move out to the inlaws until completion. OR do one room at a time, whilst carefully sealing off the room.

I'm wondering why everything has to be so damn difficult for us.

I did fall off the earth but somehow I crawled back

I got a tongue lashing this morning from Van-Nasty saying that I don't update this blog anymore.
She's entirely right, I should be updating this blog, especially now that I am "with child" as a journal of sorts. However between my anxiety over this pregnancy, my head constantly in a toilet or generally feeling miserable I haven't really felt like pouring any kind of wordage into this blog.
But I am here now, and I might as well say something useful right?

I am currently 24 weeks pregnant. I tried to take a belly shot using my camera phone but you couldn't make out what any of them where, so I will have to get my husband to take some shots for me (although asking him to take belly shots of me somehow makes him think he has full permission to take uncompromising shots at all times. We might have to go over the rules again.)
Anyhow, I am definitely showing and this belly is has a mind of it's own. On May 22nd, I saw little Juniper move for the first time from the outside and Dan was able to feel it for the first time too. I thought at first I would be completely freaked out about it, but when it actually happened I was so excited that Dan could finally share in this with me, I forgot all about freaking out. I have another doctor's
appointment next Wednesday and we should be finding out the results from the Ultra- Sound we had on April 30th. I haven't been to my doctor in about 2 months so it will be interesting what he has to tell me.
At home Dan is currently renovating the spare room which will become Juniper's room. The house is old and we noticed mold on the outside walls from the inside. Dan ripped out all the drywall yesterday and exposed some very old wood and some even older insulation that was the main reason for our problems. Now it's looking like we will have to rip apart our bedroom as well so my life as I know it will become chaotic for the next few weeks. I hate construction. I hate things not being where they belong. I am tempted to move to my parents for a few weeks(that would probably be the healthiest thing too, since who knows what is floating around in the air right now).
We have also picked out the furniture (crib, change table, dresser)so it will start to get very exciting when we order and get that stuff. I have now started to buy a few things here and there. We went to the second hand baby store on Friday and I purchased 10 one-sies for $20 plus a Winnie-The-Pooh sunhat for Dan's niece who's 3 months old. We also bought our first pack of diapers. We are such nerds. It's funny that all the things I said I was going to do if I ever got pregnant, I haven't done yet. I never kept a diary, I haven't taken any belly shots. I have been trying to eat well, but cheating on a few things like Diet Dr. Pepper and the occasional decaf-mocha from Tim Hortons. I thought I would buy the funkiest furniture for the baby's room and the coolest maternity clothes, and I haven't accomplished anything.Who was I trying to kid? Hopefully I will get a burst of energy when I enter my third trimester. Oh but I did start a baby registry at Baby's R-Us so that's something. Even though I only have 15 items on the list and some are entirely frivolous.

On another non-pregnancy note, Folk Fest is coming up soon. It's my second year as coordinator and although I will be taking it easy the weekend of the festival, I have been busy with all the preparations and meetings that come before it. Our first crew meeting is this Tuesday and I really hope to get motivated soon. It's coming up way faster than I anticipated (much like this pregnancy has) this year has flown by so far. I am really excited to have time this festival to see people like Vaness and Heather (who I have only known on an internet basis only). I intend to spend a lot of time on the Transportation Tarp filling myself full of yummy smoothies, and my favorite lemonade. Do they have pregnant girl port-a-potties at the festival??? If they don't, I think I am going to have to make a request.

ps. I am fully and completely addicted to facebook.

"I'm weak in the knees for you,
but I'll stand if you want me to.
My legs are strong and I'll move on,
but honey I'm weak, in the knees"
